Paul E Smith
Sr. Director of Content, DigitalGlobe
Mr. Smith is a spatial industry veteran with over 25 years in GIS, remote sensing, and geographic data production. As Sr. Director of Content at DigitalGlobe, Mr. Smith’s primary responsibility is focused on the content acquisition goals of the company. Mr. Smith joined DigitalGlobe through the acquisition of GlobeXplorer where he was Chief Operating Officer and one of the founders. He built the company’s global network of earth imaging content partners, leading to the development of GlobeXplorer's extensive online catalog of spatial content at nearly one petabyte in 2005. Prior to GlobeXplorer, he served as a vice president at HJW & Associates, Inc., where he pioneered the distribution of pre-made and custom-created earth imagery products via CD-ROM and the Internet through partners with NASA and Space Imaging (now known as GeoEye). Mr. Smith graduated from Cook College of Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Planning.
