Shane Loyd, with over 18 years of service to the surveying community, founded his company, The RLS Group, LLC in 1999. Shane has committed himself and his highly successful business to advancement through the use of cutting edge technology in his profession. Along with being the first in his area to employ the use of GPS and Robotic Total Stations, Shane also recognized the monumental impact that High Definition Scanning (HDS) would have on the global market place.
As director of day-to-day operations and strategic marketing at The RLS Group, LLC, Shane mirrors his high regard for strong family commitment into the leadership of his small business by placing great importance upon investing not only in technology but by investing in the growth and advancement of his staff.

Frank J. Hahnel, III
Director of Eastern Sales, HDS; Leica Geosystems
Frank Hahnel has been employed with Leica Geosystems, Inc. for close to nine years. His current role is as the Director of Eastern Sales, HDS. His background is in Land Surveying, where he worked for a major Civil Engineering and Land Surveying company in both Florida and Georgia on a wide variety of projects. This included numerous Florida and Georgia Department of Transportation projects, as well as the generation of as-builts for the Walt Disney World Animal Kingdom construction projects. He also partook in the development and platting of the Disney town of Celebration. Frank’s goals at Leica Geosystems are partnering appropriate technology into Engineering and Land Surveying companies where issues prevent the company from being competitive in their marketplace. This education process is done through a variety of means which include presenting at local, state, and national chapter meetings, and hosting individual seminars on a monthly basis. He also ensures that companies are successful in utilizing technology once they have invested in it. With this effort to ensure success, his position in Leica has taken him from the USS Cole, to the United States Capitol, to the Pentagon and World Trade Center sites. One of the biggest problems Land Surveyors face today is finding and retaining key personal. Frank assists those struggling companies find a new way to accomplish this task through new and exciting technology.
