HIT is one of the most common of all adverse drug effects due to the sheer volume of patients receiving heparin therapy. Furthermore, it is likely the most prevalent of all immune-mediated, drug-induced blood cell disorders. Dr. Greinacher, a specialist in HIT, will present valuable insight into the clinical manifestations and pathogenesis of HIT and discuss the impact of implementing a laboratory testing program to optimize therapeutic decision making in HIT-suspected patients.
